TJ Michaelson is a director in the Kroll Transfer Pricing practice, based in the Silicon Valley and San Francisco offices. He has over 12 years of experience advising senior management teams on a variety of transfer pricing and valuation matters.

TJ's work involves advising clients on issues related to intangible property valuation, U.S. and foreign transfer pricing documentation, global transfer pricing planning and implementation analyses, and controversy and litigation resolution. His extensive experience includes assisting a range of clients from startups to Fortune 100 companies across diverse industries, including biopharmaceuticals, entertainment, industrial products, medical devices, mining, not-for-profit, payment processing and solutions, retail, semiconductors, technology and telecommunications. 

TJ is the co-editor of the Kroll annual publication Guide to International Transfer Pricing – Law, Tax Planning and Compliance which covers both general issues surrounding transfer pricing and specific rules and regulations companies must consider in tax jurisdictions around the world. He is also a committee member of the Kroll Charitable Foundation which is dedicated to nurturing innovative ideas, impacting economic and social issues, and enabling progress in underserved communities around the world.

Before joining Kroll in 2012, TJ worked at Ceteris, which was later acquired by Kroll. At Ceteris, he provided transfer pricing, business valuation and intellectual property services to many of the largest multinational companies, top-ranked law and accounting firms, and leading government agencies around the world.

TJ earned a B.A. in economics and finance from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
