Mike Parsons is a senior director in the Restructuring practice, based in the Manchester office. He has more than 14 years of experience advising UK corporates in all aspects of business turnaround and restructuring.

Mike has expertise in completing independent business reviews, options reviews and financial forecast modelling. He has worked for a wide range of lenders, including banks, asset-based lenders, private equity funders, and directly for corporates and their stakeholders. Mike also has significant experience in cash management, debt advisory assignments, pre-lend reviews and financial due diligence.

He leads the Tax Arrears Solutions practice of Kroll. Together with his team, he has successfully negotiated over 500 repayment arrangements with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) since 2008. He’s also handled numerous complex appeals relating to security requests and compliance issues.

Mike’s experience with Kroll includes his stint with the corporate restructuring division of the firm. In 2012, he completed a secondment to Royal Bank of Scotland’s restructuring team where he gained valuable experience managing distressed lending portfolios.

During his career, Mike has worked on a number of high-profile assignments across a wide range of sectors, including the restructuring and sale of two printing businesses; the financial due diligence for a private equity house for their proposed acquisition of a major leisure facility; and the turnaround of a property development business with £165 million (mn) of assets and £110 mn of debt from multiple lenders.

Mike is a member of the Institute for Turnaround and was also a finalist in the 2017 TMA Young Turnaround Professional of the Year awards.

He has a degree in history from the University of Manchester and is a qualified chartered accountant.
