Duff & Phelps Strengthens Presence in Germany with Expansion of Transaction Advisory Services Practice

Frankfurt – Duff & Phelps, the global advisor that protects, restores and maximizes value for clients, today announced the expansion of its Transaction Advisory Services practice in Germany with the appointment of Klaus-Martin Haussmann as Managing Director. Klaus will focus on the German, Swiss and Austrian markets.

Klaus has over 25 years of experience in transaction advisory services representing acquirers and sellers in cross-border transactions. His area of expertise is financial due diligence, including vendor due diligence advice, financial fact books and advice on purchase price mechanisms. Klaus further brings significant corporate restructuring experience to Duff & Phelps, having performed restructuring and solvency assessments (e.g. IDW S 6, S 9, S 11) as well as independent business reviews across a broad range of industries.

Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, Klaus led the business restructuring practice at Rödl & Partner in Germany and performed transaction advisory services, in particular in an international environment.  Klaus began his career at EY in Frankfurt where he was partner for more than 10 years. Demian Koester has also joined the German Transaction Advisory Services practice as a director. Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, Demian established and led the M&A function of METRO Deutschland GmbH and was the project head of the Corporate M&A department of METRO AG. Prior to METRO, Demian held roles in the transaction advisory groups of EY, Accuracy and KPMG in Düsseldorf and Frankfurt.

"I am pleased to welcome Klaus and Demian as senior members of our growing Corporate Finance team, strengthening our existing capabilities in Germany. We have expanded our German presence very significantly in recent years and Klaus and Demian join us at a time where independent, reliable and decision-oriented advice is critical. Klaus’ track record and deep expertise in financial and operational due diligence and restructuring-oriented services will be highly beneficial for our clients, particularly in these uncertain economic times. His appointment perfectly complements our strong position in M&A advisory, strategic and operational reviews, liquidity optimization, debt advisory and valuation services,” said Andreas Stoecklin, Germany Country Leader and co-chair of Duff & Phelps EMEA executive management team.

Duff & Phelps has operated in Germany since 2006 and has advised leading private equity groups and corporates such as Airbus Group, BASF, KKR, ProSiebenSat.1, Siemens and Telefónica Germany.
